Uchigatana requirements
Uchigatana carried me through the entire game, un-infused, so I consider it an awesome weapon. I got it at the earliest opportunity and used it through the first playthrough without infusing, though I did infuse it with Sharp for the subsequent playthroughs (NG+ and NG++). Still use it with my first character. I especially love using the iai-parry.
If you don't have any of these weapons yet, you can apply occult ashes of war to your weapons. You should have already picked up the 'black whetblade' item in Nokron which allows you to do so. Occult affinity makes your weapon's damage scale with arcane to a higher degree than the blood affinity you're currently using.
