Manufacturer/Trademark – Winchester. Model/configuration – MODEL 1897 SLIDE ACTION shotgun, 12 ga., with 26-32 inch bbl., and blue finish. Serial Number – 486520 mfg. circa 1911. Additional Information – improved Model 1893 action, visible hammer, various chokes, takedown or solid frame, plain pistol grip stock.I found a couple pages that listed serial numbers but none of them matched this gun. Serial number LL79xx with a capital C over the serial number on the receiver. Pump is marked "Winchester Model 1897" no trademark stamp. Barrel marked "12 CYL" with a bunch of patent dates ending in Oct 16 1900.
