Could be Quickstep, it has iFrames and forward looks sort of like a slide. Wide stance holding a large weapon would probably look more slide like. Sprint and Quickstep is probably what you saw. If you haven't tried Quickstep, it's in the WarMaster shack or make a Bandit real quick, 2h the dagger or put away Buckler.

Block + backstep ? I have noticed when you're blocking and use backstep, you dont lose your block and can negate damage with your shield throughout the entire animation. Does backstep while blocking give you any i-frames? Or is it just that backstep has so little i-frames?
